Founded on 26 October 2022 by Fire Chief Wako Abgudo, the Mama Kabale Fire Safety Foundation was born from compassion, courage, and the urgent need to protect families from preventable fire tragedies.
After decades of service as a fire chief in Kenya, witnessing mothers, children, and entire communities lose lives and livelihoods to fires that could have been prevented, Chief Wako Abgudo made a promise — to transform pain into purpose. From that promise, Mama Kabale Fire Safety Foundation was created.
We are a non-profit organization committed to empowering every family — urban or rural — with fire-safety knowledge, awareness, and life-saving skills. Our goal is simple yet powerful:
- No child, no mother, no family should ever lose life or property because of lack of fire awareness
Through community programs, school campaigns, publications, and professional training, we are building a fire-conscious generation that values prevention over reaction

Fire Safety Education: We conduct school and community programs teaching children and parents the fundamentals of fire prevention and emergency response.
Publications & Resources: Our “Stop Drop and Roll” — Africa’s first children’s fire-safety book — and “Beyond the Flames”, a professional guide to fire-safety compliance, continue to inspire, educate, and save lives.
Equipment & Consultancy: We provide expert fire-safety consultation and supply trusted fire-fighting equipment to institutions, schools, and households.
Community Partnerships: Working with governments, NGOs, and private partners, we spread the message that safety is everyone’s responsibility.
